Departure and arrival hall for passengers travelling on foot in Naantali port terminal completed

Complete renovation of the Naantali port terminal, originally built in 1974, has proceeded according to plan. The goal of the renovation project is to bring the building up to the standard of a new building in terms of e.g. functionality and energy-efficiency. Furthermore, the completed geothermal energy project will allow for the heating and cooling of the premises using geothermal energy.

The first floor of the terminal building was completed in August and will serve as the departure and arrival hall for passengers travelling on foot from September on. This floor will also house the port control room, sanitary facilities of the port personnel, reception lobby for guests arriving in the building, and plenty of building technology. The other premises on floors 2–5 will be completed by early winter 2024.

The planning of the renovation aims at taking better into account the current purpose of the terminal building, which will allow for offering office premises for rent to new customers as well.
