In response to the significant increase in traffic volumes within the port area, traffic arrangements are being upgraded to enhance both traffic flow and safety. Construction of the new roundabout at the intersection of Satamatie and J\u00e4rvel\u00e4ntie is currently in progress.<\/p>\n

Schedule and\u00a0Impact\u00a0on\u00a0Traffic\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0new\u00a0roundabout\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0opened\u00a0to\u00a0traffic\u00a0and\u00a0commissioned\u00a0in\u00a0early\u00a0June.<\/p>\n

Following\u00a0its\u00a0commissioning,\u00a0the\u00a0intersection\u00a0area\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0fully\u00a0operational,\u00a0immediately\u00a0facilitating\u00a0smoother\u00a0traffic\u00a0flows\u00a0within\u00a0the\u00a0port.<\/p>\n

Finalisation\u00a0works\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0roundabout\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0surrounding\u00a0areas,\u00a0together\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0installation\u00a0of\u00a0new\u00a0signage,\u00a0will\u00a0continue\u00a0throughout\u00a0summer 2026.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0construction\u00a0activities\u00a0will\u00a0still\u00a0be\u00a0ongoing\u00a0and\u00a0temporary\u00a0traffic\u00a0arrangements\u00a0may\u00a0be\u00a0subject\u00a0to\u00a0change,\u00a0all\u00a0road\u00a0users\u00a0are\u00a0requested\u00a0to\u00a0exercise\u00a0heightened\u00a0caution,\u00a0maintain\u00a0an\u00a0appropriate\u00a0driving\u00a0speed, and\u00a0comply\u00a0with\u00a0temporary\u00a0traffic\u00a0guidance.<\/p>\n

The new roundabout, together with the comprehensive signage system to be finalised the summer, has been designed to serve all port users more effectively.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0signage\u00a0system\u00a0takes\u00a0into\u00a0account\u00a0the\u00a0specific\u00a0needs\u00a0of\u00a0different\u00a0user\u00a0groups:<\/p>\n

Heavy\u00a0goods\u00a0traffic<\/strong>:\u00a0Clear\u00a0route\u00a0guidance\u00a0to\u00a0vessels,\u00a0terminals, and\u00a0unloading\u00a0areas<\/p>\n

Passenger vehicles:\u00a0<\/strong>Consistent\u00a0and\u00a0unambiguous\u00a0guidance\u00a0for\u00a0embarking\u00a0passengers,\u00a0drop-off\u00a0traffic, and\u00a0access\u00a0to\u00a0port\u00a0parking\u00a0facilities<\/p>\n
