Persons moving within the area must be prepared to prove their identity and the purpose of their visit.<br \/>The Port of Naantali recommends that personnel of companies operating regularly in the area wear a visible photo ID badge to facilitate supervision.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3>ISPS, Contact information and safety instructions for vessels<\/h3>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Communication_safety_ISPS-instructions-for-vessels-Port-of-Naantali-2.pdf\">ISPS; Contact Information and Safety instructions for vessels Port of Naantali<\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Advance Notification of Dangerous Goods<\/h3>\r\n<p>An advance notification of dangerous goods must be submitted to the Port of Naantali before the arrival of any transport carrying dangerous goods to the port.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/23032017_ns_vaaralliset_aineet_ennakko_ilmoitukset_0.pdf\">Advance notification of dangerous Goods<\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Minimum Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment and High-Visibility Clothing<\/h3>\r\n<p>The Port of Naantali has defined minimum PPE requirements for the port area. These requirements are based on risk assessment, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (738\/2002), and the Government Decree on the Safety of Loading and Unloading of Ships (633\/2004).<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kartta-39-1024x724.jpg\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>Personal protective equipment must be used when work-related risks cannot be eliminated through technical solutions or work arrangements.<\/p>\r\n<h4>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<\/h4>\r\n<p>Safety helmets (EN 397) and safety footwear (EN ISO 20345:2011, protection classes S1P, S3, S5 or S7) are mandatory in the bulk terminal, on Luonnonmaa, and in quay areas. Risk areas are marked on the port\u2019s safety map.<\/p>\r\n<p>In quay areas or in work where there is a risk of falling into the water, a life jacket must also be worn.<\/p>\r\n<h4>High-Visibility Clothing<\/h4>\r\n<p>CE-marked high-visibility clothing in accordance with standard SFS-EN ISO 20471 must be worn in the port area. The minimum requirement for working in the port is Class 2.<\/p>\r\n<p>Clothing is classified into three categories:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Class 1:<\/strong> Areas with low traffic, e.g. heavy vehicle drivers in the RoPax\/RoRo area<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Class 2:<\/strong> Minimum requirement for working in the port<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Class 3:<\/strong> Minimum requirement for traffic control or road\/rail work<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The above requirements represent the minimum level defined by the port. Task-specific risks may require additional protective equipment.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Permit for Using a Mobile Crane in the Port Area of Naantali<\/h3>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Nostotyolupa-1_2026-1.pdf\">Lifting Work Permit<\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Hot Work<\/h3>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Tulityosuunnitelma.pdf\">Hot Work Plan<\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Occupational Safety in Mooring, Unmooring and Shifting of Vessels<\/h3>\r\n<p>A service provider operating on the quay must be used for mooring, unmooring and shifting of vessels.<br \/>The vessel\u2019s crew is not permitted to perform these operations if:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>The vessel has an overall length of at least 50 metres<\/li>\r\n<li>The vessel is an oil or chemical tanker<\/li>\r\n<li>The port authority so requires due to vessel size or other conditions<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3>Waste management Plan<\/h3>\r\n<div>\r\n<p>In addition to ship-generated waste, the waste management plan also covers waste generated by the Port of Naantali Ltd.\u2019s own operations. The plan takes into account the size and nature of the port as well as the types of vessels using it.<\/p>\r\n<p>It describes the reception, collection, storage, handling and recovery of waste, as well as waste fees charged to vessels and safety measures.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/portofnaantali.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Naantalin-Satama-Oy-Jatehuoltosuunnitelma-03_2026_.pdf\">Waste Management Plan<\/a><\/p>\r\n<h3>Ship Waste Management<\/h3>\r\n<p>The Baltic Sea marine environment is particularly sensitive, and vessel traffic is intensive. The Port of Naantali Ltd. contributes to the protection of the Baltic Sea by ensuring that ship-generated waste is delivered to the port\u2019s reception facilities.<\/p>\r\n<p>To enable effective planning and implementation of waste management, advance waste notifications are required from customers, and compliance with the port\u2019s waste management instructions is mandatory within the port area.
