Finnlines is a leading shipping operator of ro-ro and passenger services in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. The Company is a part of the Grimaldi Group, one of the world\u2019s largest operators of ro-ro vessels and the largest operator of the Motorways of the Sea in Europe for both passengers and freight.<\/p>\n

Finnlines ferries are dedicated to the transport freight and passengers between Naantali, Kapellsk\u00e4r in Sweden and L\u00e5ngn\u00e4s, \u00c5land Islands. There are 2 daily departures from Naantali.<\/p>\n

The fast eight-hour voyage is operated with two\u00a0 Superstar class, ro-pax vessels, MS Finnssirius<\/strong> and\u00a0 MS Finncanopus<\/strong>. Both Superstar class vessel has a passenger capacity of 1,100 people and \u00a0the cargo capacity is 5,200 lane metres.<\/p>\n

Finnlines\u2019 strategy is to systematically invest in the fleet in order to serve its customers better and to further increase the environmental performance of the fleet. Finnlines has invested over EUR 1 billion along the years and further investments worth approximately EUR 500 million will be made on Finnlines\u2019 fleet in the coming years. All in all, Finnlines places great emphasis on safety and environmental matters.<\/p>\n

The port of Naantali is a strategic choice for Finnlines. Both Naantali\u2019s and Kapellsk\u00e4r\u2019s locations are optimal in terms of freight traffic. The sea voyage is short, about eight hours. With its timetables Finnlines is able to offer efficient freight transport, between Finland and Sweden, of the type required by professional cargo transport.<\/p>\n

The road network to the port of Naantali is also excellent: big trucks do not need to drive through crowded city centres as the cars can reach the highway straight from the harbour. The other advantage is the waterway that stays open all year round. Clear waterways are a must when the traffic is heavy and the ships must sail on time, round the clock, regardless of the weather or season.<\/p>\n

Rederi Ab Lillgaard from \u00c5land Island has operated regular cargo line between Naantali and L\u00e5ngn\u00e4s since 1994. In August 2025 the operations were transferred to Rederi Ab Ecker\u00f6. M\/S Fj\u00e4rdv\u00e4gen is a ro-pax <\/strong>vessel owned by Ecker\u00f6 Link Ab. The vessel was build in 1987 at Gdansk Shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. The vessel has an ice class of 1A Super. The vessel’s cargo capacity is 1 647 lane meter and 119 passengers.<\/p>\n
